So, this has been a crummy day for fans of old movies.
However, 96 is an impressive run, and Fontaine’s elder sister Olivia de Havilland is still alive. Great genes, I suppose.

And good for her! I heard her on the radio this morning, saying Olivia would be furious she beat her to dying, they were so competitive. She was so lovely. Even the worst movie was worth watching with Joan acting in it. Leading lady in my favorite movie ever, Rebecca.
